Retired Batter Interference

Retired batter interference occurs when she is declared out without becoming a batter-runner.

If after striking out, while still in the batter’s box, the retired batter interferes with a defensive player’s opportunity to make a play on a runner.
Effect: Dead ball. The runner being played on is out. All other runners return to the base at the time of the pitch.
